I think it’s safe to say that we would all agree with that statement. Wouldn’t we also agree that advertisers are sexy?

Are you wondering where all of this is coming from? Well, you’ve probably already started to hear all the buzz about our upcoming event, right? If you haven’t — or even if you have — we’re here to give you the inside scoop.

On Thursday, March 31st, we’ll be celebrating the launch of Ad2 Reno’s saucy new website, and we’d love for you to join us! There will be free drinks and appetizers, as well as some sexy raffle prizes — well, most of them will be sexy.

When you decide that you fit right in with this bold group of young professionals, you’ll be able to join Ad2 Reno and get in on our one-night-only membership special of 15 months for the price of 12. Pretty good deal, don’t you think?

We love meeting new people who share our passion for advertising, and we’re very excited to have you at our first big event of the year! So come talk with us, mingle and enjoy yourself for a night of food, fun and good conversation.

For those of you who want to get involved right away, we’re looking for a handful of volunteers to help us out for the evening. If you’re available/interested, please shoot an e-mail to president@ad2reno.com. Your help is greatly appreciated!

ADvantage: a professional partnership

You’ve had a mentor. Whether it was a formal and established mentor relationship, or just someone you looked up to and learned a boat-load from, we’ve all had one.

Think back to early in your career. How nervous you were on your first day at your first “real” job. Maybe you’ve had that job for a few years now, or maybe you’re a decade into your career.

Three years into my career, I have five or six mentors. I’ll always be a sponge, and I want to learn as much as I can from the professionals around me.

And now I’m a mentor, too

I have partnered with a recent graduate to give her the ADvantage. I want to help her grow, learn and build meaningful relationships in this community. And at the same time, I’m still learning. I learn from her wide-eyed optimism, her creativity and her fresh enthusiasm for all things advertising. And I’m not just saying that to convince you to buy this karma card. Just the other day, helped me realize my ability to be creative in my writing.

Give someone the ADvantage: Become a mentor

We are recruiting industry professionals in all areas of marketing, in all stages of your careers, to serve as mentors for our student members and recent graduates over the next year.

Your mentee will be expected to contact you first and maintain communication, and your commitment to this program will mean:

  • Sponsoring two luncheons
Networking is a scary word. To help ease them into the world of building their own relationships, you will need to coordinate two luncheons to which your mentee can accompany you. You will be responsible for their luncheon fee, as well as networking with them, introducing them to your friends and colleagues.
  • Bi-monthly individual meetings
As a mentor, you will be expected to met with your student or Ad2 partner every other month. This can be a job shadow, mock interviews, resume building, portfolio review, coffee or lunch meetings, or even a phone call.

That’s it!

If you are interested in becoming a mentor in our program, please send an e-mail to president@ad2reno.com with your contact information and job title (so that we can match you up with a student or recent grad with related interests). And please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about the program.

Thank you so much,
