Organization
The Reno Philharmonic Association is currently in its 42nd season of serving the greater Reno-Tahoe region. A per-service orchestra, the RPA is the largest performing arts organization in Nevada. The Philharmonic Orchestra performs a season of six classical concert pairs, 12 Young People’s Concerts, the Phil Up! Pops Series and several summer pops and fundraising concerts. The Association also supports three youth orchestras and several educational and outreach programs including Discover Music and Celebrate Strings. The budget of the RPA is approximately $2,000,000.
Duties
The Marketing Director reports to the CEO and is responsible for all Reno Philharmonic Association marketing and public relations efforts. Responsibilities include the formulation of plans and budgets, implementation of all campaigns relating to ticket sales (subscription and individual), preparation of all print, online and broadcast materials; creation, writing and editing of all concert programs any other special publications. Marketing Director works closely with Music Director, Board of Trustees and administrative staff, and with all media and supporting agencies. He/she also helps in the preparation of fundraising materials. He/she serves on the Marketing Committee.
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, or Journalism required.
- Evidence of creative ability in devising and implementing marketing and public relations campaigns
- Minimum of 5 years experience in marketing
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign)
- Interest in and knowledge of performing arts helpful
Compensation
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
